STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜n alumnus of Mississippi State鈥檚 College of Business now is leading the university鈥檚 Office of Sponsored Projects.

Kevin Enroth, a Gulfport native who earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration in 2008, officially assumed his new leadership role Sept. 1 after serving three years as an OSP senior grants and contracts administrator.

The Office of Sponsored Projects is responsible for ensuring all research proposals and projects comply with university, federal and sponsor regulations, policies and procedures.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an honor to work with Mississippi State and its research community,鈥 Enroth said.听鈥漁ur goal at OSP is to continue streamlining and simplifying our processes, so we can provide the best customer service possible for our research faculty and staff, and help grow the 极速六合彩 research portfolio.鈥

Prior to joining the 极速六合彩 staff, Enroth worked at the John C. Stennis Space Center鈥檚 NASA Shared Services Center in Hancock County, where he negotiated grants and contracts on behalf of NASA and provided post-award support.

Enroth said a major goal for OSP is to help advance 极速六合彩鈥檚 brand and reputation as a leader in the research administration community. Becoming more involved in organizations such as the Federal Demonstration Partnership, Society of Research Administrators (SRA), National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and University-Industry Demonstration Partnership (UIDP) is one way to accomplish this goal, he said.

鈥淭he Office of Sponsored Projects has launched a number of innovative initiatives the past few years, including an online service request portal and a new office focused on proposal services,鈥 said 极速六合彩 Vice President for Research and Economic Development David Shaw. 鈥淚鈥檓 confident that Kevin and his team will continue to streamline the administrative process, so our faculty and staff can focus on their research.鈥

The National Science Foundation ranks Mississippi State among the nation鈥檚 top 100 research institutions. As the Magnolia State鈥檚 leading research university, 极速六合彩鈥檚 research expenditures totaled $239.4 million in 2016, accounting for more than half of the total $455 million in research and development expenditures reported by all Mississippi institutions.
